Already completed your FEMA courses?

Many employers, especially in the emergency response and healthcare field, ask their employees to complete FEMA IS-100 and FEMA IS-700.  If you have previously completed these courses, you DO NOT need to re-take them.  Please bring copies of your certificates with you to your New Volunteer Orientation Session or email them to us at MRC.MiamiDade@flhealth.gov.

If you have misplaced your certificates, you can retrieve them from FEMA by completing a “Transcript Request Form” and faxing it directly to FEMA.  This from can be found under the “Resources” tab.

Advanced Training (optional)

The Miami-Dade MRC offers other training opportunities throughout the year that are not required but are only accessible to those members who have completed their MRC Basic Training.  These trainings are considered MRC Advanced Trainings and offer CEU’s/CME’s and have a limited seating capacity.  They are usually held in conjunction with the Department of Health and its partner agencies such as Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, Miami-Dade Emergency Management, and Miami-Dade County hospitals.  These training and exercise opportunities are emergency preparedness related and vary throughout the year.  Please check the calendar for the upcoming MRC Advanced Training opportunities.

Some examples of MRC Advanced Trainings are:

  • CPR/AED Certification
  • Special Needs Shelter Management & Operations
  • Radiation Response & Population Monitoring
  • Medical Management of CBRNE Events
  • Mass Prophylaxis Point-of-Dispensing Management & Operations
  • Epidemiology Field Investigator Response and Surveillance Training
